Every year, our Republic Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm among the RSP Cadets. Marching along with the officer’s of the Army, Navy, Police etc., is indeed a matter of pride for RSP cadets.
Totally 3 contingents (Boys, Girls & RSP Band) participate in the march past held on the beach road (from Light House to Madras University)
Every year, training is given ( by a selected team of traffic warden’s) for 7 days to all students sent from city schools.
Out of these, 52 boys & 52 girls are selected to form the final marching contingent.
The whole process takes almost 20-25 days of hard work.

Every year, on the Independence Day we take about 1200 cadets to Chennai Fort area for the Flag hoisting ceremony.
All cadets are picked up from their respective schools. To ensure their safety, a traffic warden is assigned to each participating school.
At the venue, they are provided biscuits, water packets. Small sized hand Flags are provided to all cadets. On their return, breakfast is given.
